Verney’s Camp

Hwange National Park

Open Year Round

Located in the far South East of Hwange National Park, Verney’s Camp overlooks a huge floodplain that’s lined with Mopane and Teak forests. The waterhole in front of the camp is a much loved drinking place for large herds of Elephant as well as other game.

The 10 000 hectare concession is far away from other camps and not easily accessed by other park visitors ensuring a discreet and very private safari. The camp’s main guest area is a long rectangular tent home to the bar and dining room. Adjacent to this is a lounge area with comfortable chairs and a small library.

In front of both these structures is an open area of baked dirt and the evening fire pit where we enjoyed pre dinner drinks under the stars. A sunken swimming pool was a welcome relief during our stay. The waterhole is easily visible and often visited making game viewing from camp excellent.

Morning and afternoon game drives as well as community visits (pre booking) are possible.

Safari Tents

The 10 tents at Verney’s are shaded by the Mopane and Teak trees’ made from canvas with absolutely fantastic finishes. The interiors are spacious and warm with amble space outside on the deck for comfortable chairs and relaxing between game drives.

The family suite is huge and connected by a communal lounge area, each side having is own en-suite bathroom. The bathrooms are Teak paneled with dual vanity basins and an indoor shower.

Children of all ages are welcome at the camp.
