Wilderness and Adventure – 10 Days

Entebbe | Bwindi Impenetrable Forest | Ishasha | Queen Elizabeth National Park | Jinja

Uganda is a land of contrasts. In half a day you can drive from mist-shrouded volcanic mountains to hot hazy savannah, dappled with wildlife. Our Wilderness and Adventure tour explores some of the most magical areas of Uganda.

Serene undulating hills of tea plantations, lush but ordered, give way to tangled jungle and rainforest with the musical accompaniment of chaotic birdlife. Uganda is alive with these contrasts: The tiniest sunbirds, iridescent in the morning light, the massive lumbering yet silent Elephant, disappearing like a vapor behind the trees. Chimpanzees crashing about the forest canopy, the lugubrious Gorilla, chewing thoughtfully in the bamboo thicket.

There is the Nile, twisting its way north like a shimmering ribbon through arid semi-desert scattered about with rocky kopjes. Snow-capped peaks, tropical, sandy, freshwater beaches, and smiling faces everywhere. It is all here, a feast for all the senses.

The Wilderness and Adventure tour has been designed to provide the greatest variety of experiences that Uganda has to offer. The vastness of the Kidepo Valley and her prolific wildlife. This area is very reminiscent of the incredible plains of the Serengeti and Masai Mara in Tanzania.

Your accommodation at Kyaninga Lodge overlooking the Crater Lake is stunning. Beautiful views of the lush countryside and the perfect location from which to explore Kibale or Queen Elizabeth National Parks. Gorilla trekking and nature walks in the Bigodi Swamps will ensure you experience the wildlife up close and very personally.

Queen Elizabeth boasts one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game park or reserve in the world, with almost 100 mammal species and an incredible 606 bird species.

Gorilla conservation is of primary importance, if you would like to donate to preserve these animals, visit the International Gorilla Conservation Programme website.
