Mala Mala Private Game Reserve

Located at the southern end of Mala Mala Camp, Mala Mala Sable Camp is the more intimate option for travellers to the Mala Mala Game Reserve. Accommodating guests in six luxury suites and a two-bedroom chalet called the “Lion’s Den”. Some rooms are able to sleep two additional children making Sable Camp an ideal choice for families on safari.

The main lodge features an air-conditioned library, well stocked bar, elegant dining room and expansive deck from where wildlife is often seen. Elephants and various antelope browse the Sand River’s bushy banks or have a drink. A swimming pool nestles in the floodplain at the foot of the Camp. Guests that wish to make use of the fitness facility there is a small gym close by at Mala Mala Main Camp.

There are six River View luxury suites and one Waterhole Suite. No children under twelve are permitted unless the camp is booked for exclusive use. The camp provides exceptional service levels and all the comforts of home. Wifeless internet and mobile phone coverage are available.

The Mala Mala Game Reserve shares a 12 mile stretch of unfenced border with the Greater Kruger National Park. At over 33 000 acres it is one of the largest privately owned reserves in South Africa. Game drives are conducted mornings and afternoons with professional rangers and trackers.

Mala Mala has been made famous for being home to all of the Big 5 and especially Leopard. Special interest photographic safaris are also available. A customised vehicle driven by a dedicated expert ranger is available for private hire. The reserve is home to Cheetah, Wild Dog and countless other smaller species as well. Guided nature walks are the best way to connect with the rich African bush.
